As the sun begins to dip behind the shoreline of Mullet Lake, the water comes alive with the sights and sounds of Old Florida. Paddle around the lake’s 55 calm acres, past blooming purple hyacinths, American water lilies, and towering native vegetation, while a remarkable variety of birds soars overhead. Great blue herons, snowy egrets, sandpipers, killdeer, chimney swifts, and bald eagles are often spotted nesting nearby.

As dusk settles, the golden evening light reflecting off the lake creates a peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the everyday rush. With vivid sunset colors stretching across the sky, this tour offers a compelling setting for a romantic evening out, a peaceful solo adventure, or capturing stunning photographs of the natural light.

The tour departs from and returns to Mullet Lake Park in Geneva, Florida — a calm, family-friendly setting easily accessible from the Orlando area. Kayaks, paddles, and life vests are provided.

This 2-hour sunset paddle starts and ends at Mullet Lake Park in Geneva, FL. Your guide will meet you at the boat ramp at the scheduled departure time of 6:00 PM. Once launched, kayaks circle the calm 55-acre waters of Mullet Lake as the sun sets, offering spectacular golden-hour light, birdwatching opportunities, and an immersive Florida nature experience. The route is calm-water paddling suitable for all skill levels.

All guests must be able to swim. Please arrive at the boat ramp at least 15 minutes before the 6:00 PM departure.

Departures proceed in light rain and most weather conditions. Occasionally, heavy rain, storms, or other unsafe conditions may require a cancellation or postponement. If this occurs, you will be contacted promptly using the contact information provided at booking. Afternoon thunderstorms are common during Florida summers and typically pass within 30–60 minutes. In the event of a weather-related cancellation, a rain check with no expiration date will be issued, redeemable for future tours, classes, or merchandise. Refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations.

This tour follows Leave No Trace principles, including the use of tandem kayaks to minimize impact on wildlife and environment. All guests are encouraged to observe wildlife without touching or disturbing it.
