Over 2.5 hours on foot, your guide explains the intricate relationships of this living ecosystem and the remarkable story behind the reserve’s creation. Hotel pickup is included, and the tour departs at 7:00 AM on Wednesdays through Sundays. This is a private experience suitable for nature lovers of all ages, with a minimum of 2 participants.

Step into one of Costa Rica’s most treasured protected areas on a guided journey through the Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve, the country’s first nature reserve. Led by a knowledgeable local guide specializing in wildlife and history, you’ll explore lush tropical forest trails while learning about the incredible biodiversity and conservation efforts that make this destination so special.

Keep an eye out for colorful birds, monkeys, reptiles, and other native wildlife as you walk beneath towering old-growth trees and discover the unique relationships that sustain this thriving ecosystem. Along the way, enjoy scenic viewpoints and fascinating insights into the flora, fauna, and history of the reserve.

Midway through your adventure, take a relaxing break with a picnic of fresh fruit, snacks, and bottled water before continuing your exploration. This immersive experience is perfect for nature lovers seeking a deeper connection with Costa Rica’s remarkable wildlife and natural landscapes.

7:00am: Pick up at the Hotel / Villa.
7:35 am: Stop for birding at lajas river
8:00 am: Star of the nature walk at Cabo Blanco Park
9:45am: End of the hike ( Picnic of fresh fruits and snakc will be served at this point)
11:00 am: Drop off at the Hotel / Villa

  • Moderate to good physical fitness required (2.5-hour walk on forest trails).
  • No pets allowed inside the reserve.
  • No alcoholic beverages permitted.
  • Minimum age: 3 years. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Ergonomic baby carriers recommended for infants.
  • Delay policy: the guide will wait up to 20 minutes at the agreed pickup location. Guests who are not ready after 20 minutes may forfeit the booking without a refund.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour are subject to a 100% penalty fee.
For the safety of our guests, all tours may be canceled due to adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain or unsafe conditions. If a tour is canceled because of the weather, guests will receive a 100% refund.
