Whale Sharks expedition from Isla Mujeres

8:00 AM – Hotel Pickup or Meeting Time
At 8:00 AM, your experience begins with either pickup from your hotel or by meeting us directly at our new local family-owned Marina Pepe y Olga, located in Colonia Electricistas behind the junior high school—just 2 km from downtown and 5 km from the south end. Upon arrival, you’ll check in and enjoy a continental breakfast. If your accommodation lacks transportation, we’ll send a taxi for you at no extra cost. (If your lodging has a dock, we can pick you up there directly and skip the breakfast stop.)

Around 8:40 AM, we begin boarding the boats to head directly to the whale shark area. We are not taking you to the mainland or Cancun to pick up more people. Instead, we begin our expedition traveling north for about 50 minutes to reach the whale sharks’ feeding grounds.

We’ll spend approximately 1.5 hours snorkeling with the whale sharks, with up to 2.5 hours total in the area under the guidance of a certified guide. With a little luck, you may also spot manta rays, turtles, dolphins, sailfish, and other incredible marine life.

After this unforgettable encounter, we’ll provide fruit and sandwiches onboard as we make our way back. On the return, we’ll stop at North Beach in Isla Mujeres to enjoy shrimp ceviche, guacamole, and chips—all prepared fresh by your boat crew. However, if we’re near a stunning reef like “Ixlaché,” we may swap the beach stop for a vibrant snorkeling session at this incredible site.

If everything goes smoothly, we’ll return to Isla Mujeres around 12:00 noon. Timing may vary depending on weather and ocean conditions.
