Your journey begins with a 4×4 ride into the tropical jungle of Costa Rica, showcasing awe-inspiring scenery of the Savegre River’s more remote areas. Starting at Silencio, a local village known for its cooperative community and rich history, you’ll stop at a traditional Costa Rican restaurant to order lunch and use the restrooms before the real adventure begins. The ride continues towards the meandering mountains and the starting point of your white-water river rafting adventure.

The Savegre River provides Class II and III rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts accommodating 2 to 6 people. Our guides know the river inside and out and will sometimes allow you to jump in the water to float safely with the river’s current. Along the way, you’ll stop by a magnificent waterfall to take a dip and enjoy some delicious fruit provided by the guides. You’ll also observe various birds like egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, and cormorants in this protected area of the primary tropical rainforest. After a steady 13-mile trip down the river, you’ll reach the finish line and return to Silencio, where a warm Costa Rican-style lunch and refreshments will be waiting. Our satisfied, well-traveled, and now experienced Savegre River rafters will then enjoy a leisurely trip back home.
