Captain Johan uses a 24’Haynie HO with a 250 hp. Yamaha SHO outboard engine. This boat is loaded with everything you need to fish Texas bays. It will provide you with a smooth dry ride, without compromising safety and accessibility to remote locations.

Captain Johan uses 7 ft. medium action Finwick spin-casting rods equipped with Quantum spin-casting reels. These reels are spooled with 10-14 lb. Berkley fire Line.  Spin-casting reels are standard for this area.  If you prefer a bait-casting reel, please request one or bring your own.  7 ft. medium bait-casting rods and reels can be provided, but it is not recommended unless you have lots of experience with one.

All bait, tackle and artificial lures are provided. If you choose to use artificial lures, please feel free to bring your own. Wade fishermen are always encouraged to bring your own equipment. Waders, wade boots, wade belts, pliers and stringer can be supplied but it is highly recommended that you bring your own due to size and style differences between anglers.

If you have any special needs, please provide adequate information in advance. Drinking water, ice, ice chest, and all safety equipment are provided.  Food, alcohol, and other beverages (except water) are not provided.  Please feel free to bring your own food, beverages and ice chest. A full day of fishing is 8 hours, some food is recommended.

All fish will be cleaned and bagged in zip-locks as a part of your package. You will need some form of ice chest to preserve fish until you get back home.  Please allow adequate time to take picture and clean fish.

Keep in mind, I welcome novice anglers, children and individual with special needs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question regarding your fishing trip. I encourage those that do not fish, to fish. I will make sure to accommodate anyone that wants to go fishing regardless of age or disability.
