Chocolate Forest Tour and Tasting

Guests check in at Caribeans Coffee shop and meet the guide 15 minutes before the tour starts. The tour starts there with a short hike through the cacao forest where you learn the history of cacao and chocolate, how we harvest, and other farming practices. We see a variety of wildlife along the way. The hike is medium level. It starts with a small hill but is a slow hike, stopping and talking along the way. There is seating at the factory and chocolate tasting.

The hike brings the guests to an ocean view for the remainder of the tour. Here we show you how we ferment and dry the cacao to add value to the raw pod. We are a micro batch single origin chocolate maker and we have the unique opportunity to make fine chocolate from our own trees.

After learning the tree to bean process, we move to our mini chocolate factory and demonstrate how we do the bean to bar process.

Then you will enjoy a chocolate tasting, much like a wine tasting. We serve our version of the traditional Aztec chocolate drink, then finish with an additional tasting of flavor inclusions. There is no shortage of chocolate tasting on this tour!
