Cruise across the stunning Gulf of Nicoya to the beautiful Tortuga Island, where you’ll swim, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and relax on pristine white-sand beaches. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic landmarks like Rainbow Rock and enjoy breathtaking coastal views.

On the island, savor a delicious Costa Rican lunch served right on the beach, followed by free time to unwind, explore, and enjoy the tropical surroundings. Later in the afternoon, we’ll visit the serene Playa Muertos, where you can relax with snacks, fresh fruits, and refreshing drinks while watching a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

As night falls, the highlight of the experience begins. We head to the bioluminescence area, where you’ll witness the ocean glow with thousands of tiny lights that sparkle with every movement. If you wish, you can swim in the magical glowing waters — a truly unforgettable moment. If tide conditions permit, the tour may also include a scenic visit through the mangroves.

Note: Please inquire about availability of this tour before booking as it is dependent on the lunar phase and not offered every night.

10:30 AM – Pickup (Optional Private Transfer)
Your adventure begins with a flexible pickup from your accommodation (if transportation is arranged).

11:30 AM – Departure from Fisherman’s Pier, Tambor
Board your boat and begin cruising across the stunning Gulf of Nicoya.

Scenic Coastal Cruise
Pass a mysterious sunken ship and the impressive Rainbow Rock — a dramatic natural formation perfect for photos.

Snorkeling at Isla Tortuga
Arrive at Tortuga Island for an unforgettable snorkeling experience in crystal-clear waters filled with colorful tropical fish.

Beach Time & Lunch
Enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch served directly on the beach. Relax, swim, explore, or unwind on pristine white sands.

Late Afternoon – Sunset at Playa Muertos
Cruise to this peaceful beach location to enjoy snacks, fresh fruits, refreshing drinks, and a breathtaking Pacific sunset.

Evening – Bioluminescence Experience
As night falls, head to the bioluminescence area. Witness the ocean glow with thousands of tiny sparkling lights. Guests who wish may swim and experience the magical illuminated waters.

7:00 PM – Return to Tambor Pier
Arrive back at the pier after a full day of adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable natural wonders.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Guests swimming during bioluminescence must feel comfortable in water at night
  • Inform us of medical conditions or dietary restrictions in advance
  • Complimentary pick-up is available from Los Delfines Golf & Country Club.
  • Due to safety regulations, beach drop-offs are not permitted at night.
  • The tour returns to the dock after dark, and all guests must have confirmed transportation for the return transfer.

Optional Round-Trip Transportation: $20.00 USD (Santa Teresa and surrounding areas – availability upon request).

Note: A minimum of 6 participants is required to operate. If the minimum is not met, we may combine your booking with another group or offer the option to reschedule your activity. Complimentary pick up in Los Delfines Golf and Country Club is available.

Plans change — we understand. Cancellations and changes are permitted up to 24 hours before your scheduled departure.
In the event of severe weather conditions, such as strong winds or rough seas that may affect safety, the tour may be rescheduled or canceled. In this case, guests will receive a full refund or have the option to reschedule.
