Spend an unforgettable day exploring Costa Rica’s Pacific coast on our all-inclusive Isla Tortuga boat tour. Your adventure begins with a scenic cruise along the shoreline, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the coast and its nearby islands while keeping an eye out for dolphins, manta rays, sea turtles, and even seasonal whales. A special stop at a small island inhabited by curious spider monkeys lets you observe these playful creatures up close as they come down to greet the boat.

Next, dive into an underwater world as you snorkel around volcanic rock reefs teeming with colorful tropical fish — an experience that truly feels like swimming in an aquarium. Once back on board, we’ll continue to Isla Tortuga, known for its soft white-sand beach and crystal-clear, family-friendly waters. Here, you’ll be welcomed with fresh fruit and a tropical lunch served in a shaded beach area reserved for our group.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy however you like — relax in a hammock beneath the palms, swim and sunbathe, hike scenic trails to panoramic viewpoints, or rent a kayak, paddleboard, or banana boat for a bit more adventure. With small groups, personalized attention from our friendly guides, and opportunities to spot wildlife both on land and in the water, this tour is the perfect mix of relaxation, exploration, and natural beauty.

8:45 am – Check-In & Welcome
Arrive at Bahía Rica Beach, meet your guide, and receive your snorkeling gear and overview.

9:00 am – Departure from Bahía Rica
Begin your scenic boat ride, watching for marine life along the way.

9:25 am – Stop 1: Spider Monkey Island
See playful spider monkeys at Isla Nancital and capture memorable photos.

9:45 am – Coastal Cruising
Relax as the boat glides along Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline.

10:30 am – Stop 2: Snorkeling Rock
Guided snorkeling session at volcanic reefs full of colorful tropical fish.

12:00 pm – Stop 3: Arrival at Isla Tortuga
Enjoy the island’s famous beach and calm swimming waters.

12:30 pm – Beachside Tropical Lunch
Fresh tropical lunch served in a shaded group area.

1:00 pm – Free Time on Isla Tortuga
Choose your activity: swimming, hiking, hammocks, or optional rentals.

2:30 pm – Return Journey
Board the boat for a scenic ride back, with more wildlife spotting opportunities.

3:00 pm – Arrival at Bahía Rica
Disembark, with time to shower or relax before departure.

Tours run rain or shine—as long as conditions are safe, we’ll head out on the water. If safety is ever a concern, we’ll reschedule or refund.
  • We bring all waste from the island back to the mainland for separation
  • We use biodegradable cleaning products
  • We use reusable utensils, cups and plates to avoid creating excess waste

We had a fantastic day from start to finish. Bahia Lodge is a beautiful setting to start and finish the trip. Set in the trees on the edge of the sea with hammocks hung by the beach. The boat trip was amazing, we were able to see a dolphin, whales, a turtle and a ray in the ocean. The snorkelling was good but the clarity of the water wasn’t amazing. I’m guessing this is variable. Our guide, Chato, was impressively good at diving down to show us some animals. Tortuga Beach is beautiful. I think doing it out of the main season, as we did, probably makes it nicer as I can imagine the beach might feel overcrowded in peak season and multiple tour operators have bases on the beach. The food for lunch was very good and plenty of it, also easy access to drinks throughout the trip. Throughly recommend. Thank you!
